Writing and production for one of New Times’ most popular web columns…

This online column, originally conceptualized by Peter Gilstrap, has endured as one of New Times’ most popular web extra sections. I took over as “Jesus Keeper” in April 2000. Since that blessed day, I have designed and developed 7 annual redesigns of the site’s look and written up more than 350 Jesus submissions.

As Jesus Keeper, I get e-mail and postal mail submissions of Jesus images — and hate mail, it should be noted — from which I derive my weekly commentary. I am also responsible for the design and functionality of the site.

The site is an on-going contest to find “the defining image of the Main Manger Man.” And, in case you didn’t notice, it’s a humor site.

The Utne Reader reviewed the site in their September 4, 2002, issue.

    This website showcases the men’s t-shirts and women’s tanktops offered by Westside Distribution, an apparel company based in Los Angeles, CA.

    All of the t-shirt designs and descriptions are maintained in a MySQL database, which is accessed and displayed dynamically via PHP coding. Along with the dynamic, detailed online catalog, the site contains contact information, wholesale ordering information, and an e-mail alert sign-up form.
