			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been writing Jesus of the Week for roughly 10 years. LORD!</p>
<p>Writing and production for one of New Times&#8217; most popular web columns&#8230;</p>
<p>This online column, originally conceptualized by Peter Gilstrap, has endured as one of New Times&#8217; most popular web extra sections. I took over as &#8220;Jesus Keeper&#8221; in April 2000. Since that blessed day, I have designed and developed 7 annual redesigns of the site&#8217;s look and written up more than 350 Jesus submissions.</p>
<p>As Jesus Keeper, I get e-mail and postal mail submissions of Jesus images &#8212; and hate mail, it should be noted &#8212; from which I derive my weekly commentary. I am also responsible for the design and functionality of the site.</p>
<p>The site is an on-going contest to find &#8220;the defining image of the Main Manger Man.&#8221; And, in case you didn&#8217;t notice, it&#8217;s a humor site.</p>
<p>The <em>Utne Reader</em> <a href="http://www.utne.com/2002-09-01/JesusoftheWeek.aspx">reviewed</a> the site in their September 4, 2002, issue.</p>

<p>This website showcases the men&#8217;s t-shirts and women&#8217;s tanktops offered by Westside Distribution, an apparel company based in Los Angeles, CA.</p>
<p>All of the t-shirt designs and descriptions are maintained in a MySQL database, which is accessed and displayed dynamically via PHP coding. Along with the dynamic, detailed online catalog, the site contains contact information, wholesale ordering information, and an e-mail alert sign-up form.</p>
